Pedro Weisleder, MD, PhD, has been appointed to lead the Center for Pediatric Bioethics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. A child neurologist and member of the Neurology faculty, Dr. Weisleder has published on the topics of medical ethics, and the interactions between medicine and the law, and served as co-chair of the Nationwide Children’s Integrated Ethics Committee.
The goal of the Bioethics Center is to improve the wellbeing of children by shedding light on the complex bioethical challenges faced by families, healthcare institutions, and society and to stimulate ethical discourse across disciplines within the hospital and beyond.
Dr. Weisleder is a professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and director of the Pediatric Neurology Residency Program. He is also vice-chair of the Nationwide Children’s Graduate Medical Education Committee.
