(From the December 2012 issue of Inside Nationwide Children's)
During cold and flu season (November 26 – March 15) all inpatient visitors, including siblings, must be healthy and 14 years of age and older. Visitors under 14 years of age will not be allowed on the unit – this includes waiting rooms, play rooms and family lounges. During admission patients and parents will be asked to identify up to four additional people, 14 years of age and older, that they wish to visit while they are inpatient. It does not matter what the relationship is to the patient (grandparent, aunt, uncle, sibling, or support person, etc.). These four names cannot be changed unless approved by the Nurse Manager/designee or the Nursing Supervisor. Clergy are allowed to visit and are not included in the four additional names.
