The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital is pleased to announce several changes taking place that will improve customer service and reliability to assist our principal investigators with the financial management of their projects.
On March 9, 2015, the calculation for payroll encumbrances will be updated in Navision to allow for greater accuracy in determining remaining balances on grants.
On April 13, 2015, Research Business Coordinators will begin reviewing and approving all orders (requisitions and check requests) for the PIs they work with. This will help reduce non-allowable expenses being inadvertently charged to grants.
Also on April 13, 2015, Navision will be updated to look at the entire remaining balance on a project (funds remaining in personnel and operating) when determining whether an item can be ordered. This change will reduce the need to re-budget funds between operating and salary funds throughout the life of the grant.
