Stecker International Scholars Program Celebrates 20 Years

This year the Stecker International Scholars Program celebrates 20 years at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The program was established in 1995 to improve children's access to quality health care throughout the world by providing physicians and nurses with postgraduate, individually tailored education in Columbus, Ohio. It is open to eligible physicians and nurses from any country outside the USA. As of June 2015, more than 355 scholars from 64 countries have participated in the program.

Scholar accomplishments include:

  • Nine grants to alumni since 2013, including a $100,000 research grant in Brazil
  • 17 former scholars promoted to leadership positions (2011-2014)
  • 238 articles published by former international scholars
  • 58 research projects completed by former scholars
  • Two books and four book chapters written by former scholars
