Simon Lin, MD, MBA, Receives Biomedical Research Mentor of the Year Award from the Landacre Research Honor Society

Simon Lin, CRIOOn June 16, Simon Lin, MD, MBA, chief research information officer in The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital, received the Biomedical Research Mentor of the Year Award at the 2016 Landacre Induction Ceremony and Banquet for his outstanding dedication to advising and mentoring future physicians at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. The Landacre Research Honor Society awarded him the honor for his continuing support of medical student research.

Dr. Lin is a national expert on data-driven healthcare innovations. As the chief research information officer at Nationwide Children's, he is responsible for strategic planning, programmatic development and oversight of activities at the intersection of research informatics, translational medicine, and clinical informatics. Dr. Lin's goal is to utilize electronic health records (EHRs) and health information technology (HIT) to improve safety, quality, outcomes and effectiveness.

Dr. Lin has authored more than 90 publications and edited five books published by Springer. His leadership in clinical research informatics has been recognized through his appointment to study sections and advisory committees as part of the National Institutes of Health and the International Standard Committee of SNOMED-CT.
