Safety Coach Program Expands to Research

(From the January 2015 Issue of Research Now)

Please congratulate the newest safety coaches from The Research Institute, who will join the approximately 400 Safety Coaches already in place at Nationwide Children's Hospital as part of the hospital-wide effort to expand the program into non-clinical areas.

These individuals have expressed a personal commitment to safety by volunteering to go through an extensive Safety Coach training program. They have been tasked to help educate, improve communication, identify problems, seek resolutions, and share lessons learned in order to eliminate behaviors and practices that could result in harm.  Additionally, they have been asked to be champions of the Zero Hero safety tools such as Stop and Resolve, STAR, SBAR and ARCC, so do not be surprised to see these tools being used more frequently and visibly within The Research Institute in the coming year.
