Vinay Prasad, MD, is interested in patterns of injury in the pediatric GI tract. He is working with Ron Houston in Anatomic Pathology at Nationwide Children’s to study how antigens are expressed in liver cells in variably inflamed or altered GI mucosal biopsies. Antigens evoke antibody production, indicating an immune response.
He is also working on histologic correlates of ischemic placental disease, including preeclampsia. This work could help improve diagnostic testing and screening processes for these diseases.
