When a family has a sick child, the last thing we want them to worry about is how they are going to pay for treatment. And when English isn’t a family’s first language, navigating their billing account can be even more stressful. That’s where Wanda Miranda comes in. Wanda, a Spanish-speaking Financial Assistance Representative at the Patient Accounts department in Westerville, spends her days on the phone, answering families’ questions about their accounts. Wanda delivers Best Outcomes by providing financial relief to parents. “As a single parent, I know how stressful it can be to have a child in the hospital,” says Wanda. “It means a lot to me to be able to help parents with their financial concerns. When the department receives letters from grateful parents, it is fulfilling to know we’ve been able to help them.”
