Of Note: New PI Dr. Benjamin Kopp Studies Macrophage Control of Infection in Cystic Fibrosis

Dr. Kopp has joined the Center for Microbial Pathogenesis

Benjamin T. Kopp, MD, has joined the Center for Microbial Pathogenesis as a principal investigator.  Dr. Kopp completed his medical fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in 2012. His research focuses on the immunologic control of Burkholderia cenocepacia infection in cystic fibrosis.  Specifically, he is interested in how human macrophages control these infections. Dr. Kopp will be investigating therapies to improve the macrophage clearance of B. cenocepacia to prevent exaggerated inflammation and poor patient outcomes.
