(From the June 2016 Issue of MedStat)
In June, Nationwide Children’s Hospital opens a new Close To HomeSM Center in Westerville to better serve existing child and adolescent patients who need Behavioral Health services. The new Westerville Close To Home Center at 185 W. Schrock Road will provide psychiatry services, including medication management and psychiatric consultation. There is no increase in capacity for these services. A letter to select existing psychiatry patients residing in the northern area has been mailed to offer appointment transitions to this new facility.
Nationwide Children’s care model focuses on the importance of a “medical home” and parents are always advised to consult first with their child’s physician. In addition, the model is designed to deliver care in partnership with a patient’s primary care physician, which includes consistent, timely reporting to physicians regarding care provided to their patients.
