The Biomedical Imaging Team at The Research Institute will soon acquire equipment (the Aperio ScanScope FL) to expand its digital slide capabilities to include fluorescence labeled samples. The team can already create high-resolution digital images from glass microscope slides, but will now be able to include low-level fluorescence tissue samples at high resolution. The slides can be shared world-wide using the team’s existing VIPER application. This technology will significantly improve research pertaining to pediatric cancers. Funding was provided by the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. For more information about the Biomedical Imaging Team visit http://imaging.nchresearch.org.
