John Barnard, MD, president of The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, was recently appointed to the Ohio Third Frontier Commission by Governor John Kasich.
Created in 2002 as an economic development initiative, the Ohio Third Frontier provides funding to Ohio technology companies, universities, nonprofit research institutions and other organizations to create new technology-based products, companies, industries and jobs.
The Ohio Third Frontier is administered by an 11-member commission, which is responsible for the allocation of funds appropriated by the Ohio General Assembly to support programs and activities associated with the Ohio Third Frontier. Dr. Barnard will serve on this commission until April 2014.
