(From the August 2014 Issue of MedStat)
The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon & ½ Marathon will pass by the hospital for its 35th running in October. The October 19 event also will feature a combined start and finish at North Bank Park in the Arena District of Downtown Columbus. While the inclusion of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the combined start/finish areas are new, much of the 13.1-mile ½ Marathon and 26.2-mile Marathon courses remain the same – including the Marathon route going through Ohio Stadium for the third straight year – helping to maintain the event’s reputation as being fast and fun.

Also, the Marathon & ½ Marathon is pleased to announce its field of “Patient Champions” who will represent 24 of the 26.2 miles on this year’s course. The other two miles along the Marathon route will be deemed the “Encore Mile” and “Angel Mile,” and each mile will be sponsored by a corporate or community organization.
