(From the April 2015 Issue of MedStat)
For nearly a decade, PediaCast has provided parents with a regular dose of news they can use, answers to listener questions and interviews with pediatric and parenting experts. Over the years, doctors, nurses and students have joined the PediaCast audience, looking for evidence-based answers to the questions young patients and parents ask most. And now, in response to demand, we’ve created a podcast aimed at providers. In addition to a wide range of pediatric topics, we include episodes on faculty development, and helping pediatric teachers and researchers improve skills at every level. Plus, we now offer Category 1 Continuing Medical Education credit to our listeners.

In May 2015, CareLink will get an upgrade to be even more user-friendly. CareLink allows you to look at laboratory or radiology results done through our network. You can also see past and future appointments, and all notes and summaries for your patients. Also, be sure to take advantage of the newest CareLink feature, Community Messages. Through this feature, you may send and receive secure messages to hospital-based specialists about mutual patients. Over 80 providers have used Community Messages to share information since it was launched last fall.
For more information on CareLink and Community Messages, visit: NationwideChildrens.org/Carelink
As part of the Epic upgrade, you’ll notice some minor changes to the look and feel of CareLink.
On May 2, when you log in to CareLink, you’ll see a link in the “News” section. This link will take you to a document with more information on the changes you’ll see with the upgrade. An email will be sent to all practices before the upgrade which will include additional documentation and education. Please make sure the Information Services CareLink team has the correct email for your administrator by sending a message to the address below. More education will also be available on the CareLink login page as part of the current e-learning module.
If you have any questions, please contact the Information Services CareLink team at CareLink@nationwidechildrens.org.
