Medical Leadership Program Accepting Applications

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is now accepting applications for the 9th Medical Leadership Program (MLP) which begins January 2016.

What: MLP is an overview of basic leadership/management skills taught by Nationwide Children’s leaders for our medical staff. It provides a quick start for leaders who are assuming new or expanded leadership roles in the hospital, their practices, and/or their community/professional associations.

Content includes:

  • Strategic Planning & Growth
  • Business Planning & Project Management
  • Conflict Management
  • Communicating & Effectively Managing Meetings
  • Coaching & Mentoring
  • Team Dynamics – Leadership as Team Sport
  • Overcoming Resistance to Change
  • Conflict Management
  • Enhancing Leadership Effectiveness - Managing Burnout
  • Delegation
  • Leadership EQ

When: Classes meet monthly at 7 a.m. for one hour; there are 3 - 4 two hour sessions and one half-day (four-hour) workshop. The 16-month program runs from January 2016 through May 2017. Download the 2016 schedule

Who: Any Nationwide Children’s medical staff or Research Institute director is invited to apply. The diverse cohort of participants provides an engaged peer group from whom to learn.

CME: CME Category 1 credit is provided.

Cost: No cost to medical staff members or Research Institute directors. Attendance is expected.
