Dr. Slaughter is an attending neurologist in the Section of Neurology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, Division of Child Neurology, at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She is board-eligible for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with special qualification in child neurology. She has clinical and research interests in general child neurology and neonatal neurology, particularly in neonatal seizures, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, perinatal stroke, and metabolic disorders presenting in the newborn. Her clinical focus at Nationwide Children’s is neonatal neurology, both as a consultant in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and in outpatient clinical follow-up. Topics of recent publication include glucose-transporter deficiency disorder and neonatal temporal lobe hemorrhagic venous infarcts. Originally from Wisconsin, she joined the faculty at Nationwide Children’s in August 2009 after completing her child neurology residency in Cincinnati, Ohio.
