(From the September 2013 Issue of MedStat)
The demand for pediatric gastroenterology care has been exceptionally high for the past several years, but thanks to improved efficiency and recruitment of many new specialists, the GI program at Nationwide Children’s has increased access and eliminated wait times for the majority of specialty services. In just the past three years, the faculty has grown from 16 pediatric gastroenterologists to the current list of 23, making it one of the largest in the United States. In 2013 alone, the program welcomed five new specialists. In addition to services provided on main campus, GI offers local outpatient clinics in Dublin and Westerville, as well as regional outpatient clinics in Mansfield and Zanesville. Primary care providers can schedule online, fax referrals to (614) 722-4000 or call Central Scheduling at (614) 355-0221.
