(From the May 2016 Issue of MedStat)
Families now have access to a new 24-hour youth psychiatric crisis phone line provided by Nationwide Children’s. The Franklin County Psychiatric Crisis Line for youth and adolescents ages 17 and under is available at (614) 722-1800. The Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board of Franklin County initiated this expanded partnership due to the increased demand of youth in need of psychiatric crisis services. Nationwide Children’s will ensure linkage to ongoing treatment following crisis evaluation and stabilization. Franklin County adults, 18 years of age or older, should continue to seek crisis care at Netcare Access at (614) 276-CARE (2273). Nationwide Children’s Behavioral Health patients who are linked with Nationwide Children’s treatment teams that have 24-hour crisis coverage should continue to use the crisis coverage provided by their team. If your voicemail or phone tree references calling Netcare for psychiatric crisis support, please update it accordingly.
