Featured Physician: Megan Letson, MD, MEd

Megan M. Letson, MD, M.EdMegan Letson, MD, MEd, was named chief of the Section of Child and Family Advocacy, as well as medical director for The Center for Family Safety and Healing. Child and Family Advocacy, which is housed within The Center for Family Safety and Healing, comprises a team of board-certified child abuse pediatricians and advanced practice nurse practitioners who are nationally recognized experts in child maltreatment with an emphasis on physical abuse, sexual abuse and medical child abuse. Dr. Letson is an associate professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and serves as program director for the Child Abuse Pediatrics Fellowship. Her professional interests include child physical and sexual abuse and Medical Child Abuse as well as medical education. Dr. Letson is interested in the long-term outcomes of children with abusive head injury using a multidisciplinary approach to address the medical, developmental/ behavioral and physical rehabilitation needs of these patients. Additionally, as part of her interest in medical education, Dr. Letson has a Master’s Degree in Education through the University of Cincinnati.
