Katya Harfmann, MD, is an attending dermatologist at Nationwide Children’s and assistant professor of Dermatology and Pediatric Dermatology at The Ohio State University. She is interested in general pediatric dermatologic conditions such as atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, connective tissue disorders, genetic skin conditions, acne, birthmarks, vascular lesions and moles, but also has a unique interest in hair disorders and the impact of skin conditions on quality of life. Dr. Harfmann is the director of the new Pediatric Hair Disorders Clinic which provides specialized care to patients suffering from hair loss, hair shaft disorders and excessive hair growth. Patients and families can expect a comprehensive evaluation aimed at determining diagnoses and establishing personalized treatment plans. Dr. Harfmann is also able to provide the following diagnostic and treatment options: scalp biopsy, trichogram, intralesional injections, topical immunotherapy, systemic immunosuppressants and serial photography.
