Kamran Badizadegan, MD, will be Nationwide Children's Hospital chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Prior to coming to Nationwide Children’s, he served as the founding chair of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Florida and a professor of Pathology at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando. Prior to joining Nemours, he was the head of pediatric pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital and served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology.
Dr. Badizadegan holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed his anatomic pathology residency at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston and his pediatric pathology fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital. His clinical interests include gastrointestinal pathology, information sciences and diagnostic technologies. He is a member of multiple pathology related professional societies, a reviewer for peer reviewed medical journals, and he received the Nemours Physician Excellence Award for Quality in 2014.
