Edwin M. Horwitz, MD, PhD, is the director of Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) at Nationwide Children’s and a professor in both pediatrics and medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He is board-certified in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Horwitz earned his doctor of medicine, post doctorate in biochemistry and Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University. He completed a clinical and research fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed his residency and internship in pediatrics at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. He was an attending physician at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Tennessee and served as a member of its Bone Marrow Transplantation, Gene Therapy, Hematopoietic Malignancies, Stem Cell Transplantation and Experimental Hematology programs. Dr. Horwitz was an attending physician at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and an associate professor of pediatrics at Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
