Dr. Valentine Provides Data to the FDA Regarding Donor Milk

Christina Valentine, MD, RD, medical director for neonatal nutrition services at Nationwide Children’s and principal investigator in the Center for Clinical and Translational Research at The Research Institute recently presented at a US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) committee meeting.  The committee met to discuss donor and banked human milk, in order to provide the FDA with a better understanding of current practices and potential benefits and risks associated with the donation of banking of human milk.  Dr. Valentine presented information regarding the use of donor milk in the neonatal intensive care unit.
