Mark A. Ranalli, MD, is an attending physician in the Division of Hematology/Oncology/BMT at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Ranalli serves as medical director of the Comprehensive Hemoglobinopathy Center at Children’s and oversees the Embryonal Tumor Program. His clinical and academic interests include: cardiopulmonary and cerebrovascular complications in sickle cell anemia; the treatment of neuroblastoma, primary renal tumors, and germ cell malignancies; and the use of novel therapies for >refractory malignancies. Dr. Ranalli is a member of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center Institutional Review Board. He serves as the institutional principle investigator for national clinical trials investigating the natural history of iron overload and the management of silent cerebral infarcts in children and young adults with sickle cell anemia.
