Linda Stoverock, DNP, RN NEA-BC has been Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Nationwide Children’s Hospital since 2000. The hospital is nationally recognized as one of the best children’s hospitals by both U.S.News & World Report and Parent magazine. Under Linda’s leadership, Nationwide Children's became the first children’s hospital in Ohio to receive MagnetTM Recognition for exhibiting improved nurse-to-patient ratios, increased levels of patient satisfaction, reduced mortality and morbidity rates and significantly higher educational preparation of the registered nurse workforce. In 2014, Nationwide Children’s was re-designated as a MagnetTM hospital for a 3rd time.
Linda effectively leads and manages the largest employee group at Nationwide Children’s. More than 2,500 staff RNs, professional RNs and management RNs report to Linda in addition to more than 3,000 additional patient care services staff for a total of more than 5,500 staff members. Linda’s team extends beyond Nationwide Children’s Hospital main campus to include the hospital’s more than 70 offsite locations throughout Ohio as well as six Newborn Special Care Units (NSCU) run by Nationwide Children’s staff in Columbus area adult hospitals.
Prior to joining Nationwide Children’s, Linda was interim vice president and director of pediatric medical-surgical units and hematology-oncology at Children’s Hospital of Austin in Texas. She currently serves on several boards locally and nationally, and is actively involved with the American Heart Association. In 2010, Linda was named a YWCA Woman of Achievement.
