Membership Information

Requirements

Kinder Key members make a minimum three year commitment. Active Members are required to make a minimum gift of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for annual membership dues, attend all regular meetings and serve on one or more standing committees. Join our membership and continue the Kinder Key legacy of providing new hope for young hearts!

2012 Volunteer of the Year
The annual Auxilian Volunteer of the Year Award was established to honor a woman for her dedication and service to Nationwide Children’s Hospital as exhibited by her service through a Nationwide Children’s Hospital Women’s Auxiliary. This award recognizes a woman’s active leadership to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Nominate someone now!

Events

Kinder Key supports the lifesaving work taking place at The Heart Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital through various events and projects.

Candle with a Cause
New this year for Kinder Key! Candle with a Cause benefiting the Heart Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Two candle scents are available - Apple Spice and Sweet Heart. The candles are carefully handcrafted out of recycled wine bottles from local businesses and natural soy wax to create the best, environmentally friendly candle possible. Purchase a candle now!

Caroling Drive
Kinder Key Caroling has been an annual tradition since 1954 in Columbus. During the month of December, friends, family, co-workers and/or neighbors are invited to join together and spend an evening caroling. To help ensure a successful caroling experience, Kinder Key provides organizational tips and caroling supplies as well as one of its members as a contact person.

Denim and Diamonds
The premier event for Kinder Key held annually in April, the Denim & Diamonds Gala, invites guests to mix their jeans and their jewels for a casually elegant event. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, a LIVE Auction, Silent Auction, Chinese Auction,  exclusive items in the “Diamond” Raffle and great music! Individual tickets and corporate sponsorship opportunities benefit The Heart Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Projects

Angels
Each fall, a charming five-inch stained glass angel is designed for Kinder Key. This angel makes the perfect gift for friends, relatives, co-workers, and neighbors. Kinder Key angels are treasured keepsakes and are quickly becoming collector’s items. Angels are available in October of every year. Learn more or purchase the 2012 Angel!

New and Used DVD Collection Project
Kinder Key has an ongoing project to collect new and used DVD's for distribution to children to watch while they are patients at Nationwide Children’s. Two local area businesses have graciously offered to provide drop boxes at their locations to collect DVD’s. We appreciate your donation and thank you for your support.

the Memorial Tournament
The Women’s Division of the Memorial Tournament is the premier organization responsible for coordinating the thousands of volunteers who are essential to the success of this PGA golf tournament. Kinder Key joins other Nationwide Children’s Auxiliaries in being an integral part of the volunteer force. Since the tournament's inception in 1976, the Memorial Tournament volunteers have raised over $8 million for Nationwide Children's Hospital.
