Biography

John V. Campo, MD, is a member of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and a Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Clinical Pediatrics and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Campo completed medical school at the University of Pennsylvania and residencies in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and in general and child and adolescent psychiatry at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of the University of Pittsburgh. He is board certified in pediatrics, psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Campo is the recipient of National Institute of Mental Health funding and is an investigator in the Center for Innovation in Pediatric Practice at The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. His interests include the relationship between medically unexplained physical symptoms and emotional disorders, psychosomatic medicine, and the delivery of evidence based behavioral health interventions, most notably in primary care. Dr. Campo has been honored as a NAMI Exemplary Psychiatrist and a recipient of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry’s Simon Wile Leadership in Consultation Award.
