Meet our Home Health Nursing Leadership
Nationwide Children’s Hospital is partnering with the Ohio Better Birth Outcomes (OBBO) initiative. As a part of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Nationwide Children’s Hospital Homecare is partnering with the Preterm Labor Clinic at the Wexner Medical Center (OSU) to decrease the number of premature deliveries in Central Ohio. Antepartum-trained homecare nurses are administering progesterone injections to women who have previously delivered a baby before 37 completed weeks of pregnancy. The most benefit has been seen in an injected form of progesterone called 17 –alpha-hydroxy-progesterone caproate (17-P). Women receive the injections to help prevent another premature baby between 16 and 20 weeks of pregnancy and continue weekly injections until 37 weeks of pregnancy. Our homecare nurses also do an antepartum and review the signs and symptoms of preterm labor.
For more information about the 17P program, please contact us at 1-614-355-1100 or 1-800-466-2727. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm, excluding National holidays. Staff is on call 24/7 to answer any questions, and to address patient and family concerns.
