Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis (SCFE)
Our team has broad experience managing acute, unstable SCFE and chronic, severe SCFE with reconstructive techniques. We have successfully treated over 60 patients with severe SCFE via a modified Dunn procedure (subcapital osteotomy with surgical hip dislocation) and other osteotomy techniques.
Ongoing research projects include an MRI study to predict contralateral hip involvement in children with unilateral slips and a review of treatment outcomes for more than 30 acute, unstable slip patients treated by a single surgeon via the modified Dunn procedure – the largest single-center study to date of this specific technique.
