Nurse practitioners are registered nurses with advanced education and clinical expertise. As pediatric nurse practitioners (PNP) they have also specialized in health care for children from birth through adolescence. The GI Pediatric Nurse Practitioners work in collaboration with the physician gastroenterologists at Children’s Hospital Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. When the PNP sees your child they manage care within the scope of their practice and may discuss any areas of concern with the physician. Our team of experienced PNPs can perform physical exams, screen for developmental, behavioral and health problems, diagnose, treat and manage illnesses and diseases of the GI system, and provide prescription medication regimens. The Gastroenterology , Hepatology and Nutrition Division utilizes the PNPs in clinic office visits and the majority of the time they can and will do the same things for your child at the visit that the physician would do. A physician always reviews the final plan of care for your child. Meet our pediatric nurse practitioners below.
