Partners for Kids

About Us

Partners for Kids is a physician hospital organization (PHO) currently composed of 780 pediatric and adolescent primary care providers, pediatric and adolescent specialty care providers and our sponsoring hospital, Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Since 1994, our network has offered a comprehensive range of health care services to health plans under our managed care agreements. Our primary goal is to improve quality and access for the patients who we jointly serve throughout the Central and Southeastern Ohio regions.

As a joint contracting entity, the organization provides participating physician practices with access to value-added services such as:

  • Enhanced Reimbursement Under Medicaid and Commercial Managed Care Agreements,
  • Assistance with Medicaid and Commercial Managed Care contracting,
  • Assistance with Claims Resolution,
  • Delegated Credentialing

Mission

Partners for Kids is committed to providing a comprehensive network of pediatric and adolescent health care providers. Through a dedicated partnership between medical and surgical sub-specialists, primary care physicians, and Nationwide Children's Hospital, Inc., Partners for Kids will provide the highest quality pediatric care under group contract arrangements with managed care organizations.

Vision

Partners for Kids will become the pediatric network of choice by providing the highest quality service to patients and families in central Ohio and beyond. We will evaluate real time quality measures to ensure the delivery of superior care to Medicaid managed care populations. We will become a model of pediatric care delivery throughout the region and nationally.

  • Partners for Kids has four Medicaid managed care contracts covering all of the pediatric (ages 0-18) Medicaid managed care enrollment for the Central and Southeastern regions.
  • Partners for Kids is financially responsible for all medical care provided to our members whether services are provided by a Partners for Kids affiliated provider or by providers and facilities located outside of the Partners for Kids network.
  • Our partner health plans are required to provide administrative services including case management, care coordination, utilization management, disease management, etc.
  • Medical Director role/priorities are to ensure accountability by our health plans, enact programs and develop policies within our delivery system, and with our partner health plans, to ensure appropriate access to services, and cost-effective quality care across the continuum whether that be within the Partners for Kids network or any other providers.
