Chief Medical Officer
Nationwide Children's Hospital

We at Nationwide Children’s Hospital are committed to providing a safe, high quality, and satisfying care experience for your family.  We monitor our safe and high-quality environment by closely watching a comprehensive array of measures.  Your satisfaction with our services is measured monthly.  Our performance indicated by these measures is reported monthly to the hospital’s board of directors to ensure accountability.

It is important to gauge the quality of work our hospital does.  It is important to you in choosing to seek care for your child at Nationwide Children's Hospital.  It is important to us to continually monitor our improvement efforts.  For more than ten years we have monitored these measures internally.  Now, we are making them public so you can assess for yourself the performance of Nationwide Children’s Hospital.  We have selected measures that we believe are important and understandable indicators for families.

In presenting this information we hope to explain what we are measuring, how we are measuring, why we are measuring, and how we are improving.  Even when our performance is high, we are always looking for ways to improve in order to provide the highest quality care possible.  For most measures, we include how we compare to others in the US or in our region. Where there are no comparisons, we show you how we compare to our performance in the past.

Our goal is to achieve a perfect score - always. While we have not yet achieved this very high goal for ourselves, we promise to work continuously to improve our performance so that ALL of our patients and their families will feel that Nationwide Children's provides the best care for their child.

Your interest in our performance is appreciated.  Feedback is always encouraged.  Please let us know what you think of the information we have presented.  Through your feedback we will continue to make improvements to this reporting tool. Feedback or questions can be directed to AskChildrens@NationwideChildrens.org.
