Spotlight: June/July (Identity Change Edition)

As we envision the future of this great organization, it's vital we remain grounded in the hospital's heritage. Children's mission is enduring because it is our greatest strength. It is why most of us choose to work here, and it is the reason we enjoy incredible community support.

To serve our mission means to provide the best care, centered on the patient and family, regardless of a family's ability to pay. The experience of the patient and family as well as the compassion we show is at the heart of what happens here everyday.

I invite you to read this special edition of Spotlight. Starting with this issue, there will be increased communication around our mission, aspiration and strategic plan. It will detail our Roadmap to the Future which clearly illustrates our main priorities and the key initiatives underway.

As you read this issue, please study the Roadmap to Our Future then discuss what you read with your colleagues and supervisors. Ask questions. Offer ideas. Plan to attend a Vision Forum.

Our aspiration is simple but powerful: We will provide the best care for our children. To provide the best care, which encompasses the best experience, we will challenge ourselves to improve the way we do what we do. I believe we have the innovative culture and staff to imagine, create and define the model world class health care system for children.

Childrens Hospital: The Roadmap To Our Future
The Roadmap to Our Future illustrates the integration of our mission, aspiration and priorities. Our mission is to provide the highest quality care to all children regardless of ability to pay. To attract top-notch talent and funding that will allow us to serve our mission, we aspire to set the standard for quality care and patient experiences for our children. We will realize our vision by focusing on the three priorities of our strategic plan: enhancing the patient experience, discovering new treatments and cures, and improving performance and capacity.
