This program is a national continuing education program. This course was designed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, and is specifically written for First Responders, EMTs, and Paramedics. PEPP provides a comprehensive program, based on the pediatric objectives of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) National Standard Curriculum. PEPP offers a highly interactive program using case-based lectures, small group scenarios, live action videos, and hands-on skill stations.
The purpose of this program is to improve the prehospital care responder's knowledge and comfort level with chronically ill and technology dependent children and the EMS issues that affect them. Lectures, videos, case scenarios and hands on skill stations will be used to provide basic information on various chronic medical conditions these children may have, as well as the technologies and equipment that may be necessary for their survival.
