    Adult/Infant/Child CPR Classes

    Speaker's Bureau

    As a community service, professionals from Nationwide Children's Hospital are available to speak to your club or organization. Presentations are offered on a variety of pediatric health topics based on speaker availability. Please allow six (6) weeks advance notice to schedule a speaker. Groups must consist of a minimum of 20 people. For topics related to poison safety, call the Central Ohio Poison Center at (614) 355-0435. For topics related to child abuse prevention, call Prevent Child Abuse Ohio at (614) 722-6800. For other topics, call Marketing & Public Relations at (614) 355-0485 to schedule a presentation.

    At Home with Children's – Nationwide Children's Hospital brings educational programs to your neighborhood!

    Program Options
    Currently, Children's Hospital offers three programs that we will bring to your neighborhood!

    Adult/Infant/Child CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
    This workshop provides information and skills training in CPR and airway obstruction (choking) for adults, infants, and children.
    Each participant receives an American Heart Association Heartsaver card upon successful completion of this course.*
    Teacher student ratio is 1: 6
    Size: Maximum of 12 students per class
    Age: Must be age 11 or older to attend
    Time: Four hours
    Cost per participant: $35.00

    Safety/First Aid

    Comprehensive overview of child safety and basic first aid.
    Class size: Minimum of 10 people
    Age: must be 11 or older to attend
    Time: Four hours
    Cost per participant: $25.00

    *Although this course is not sponsored by any AHA component, some or all materials utilized by faculty or students may be American Heart Association materials supplied at cost. Any fees charged for this course do not represent income to the AHA.


    Kenpo Personal Defense Program teaches basics steps in perosnal proetction adn is taught by a State certified defensive tactics instructor. Cost is$20per person or $25 for who people who sign up together. You must be age 12 or older to attend and parents are encourage to attend with their child.

    How does the At Home with Children's program work?

    A community liaison works with Children's Hospital to make the program happen.
    What does the liaison do?
    Secures a free location (recreation centers and libraries are good options) and signs up participants.
    What does Children's Hospital do?
    Children's provides everything needed for the educational session including teachers materials, confirmations and certificates of completion.
    Workshop dates: At Home programs are offered to fit your busy schedule, on days and times that are convenient for you and your friends.

    Poison Prevention

    Information about how to help families be poison safe, poison prevention information and materials as well as program planning assistance is available by calling the Central Ohio Poison Center Education Office at 614-722-2643.
