Healthy LifeStyles Weight Management Class – A Joint Program of Nationwide Children's Hospital & The YMCA of Central Ohio
This program is designed for parents whose children ages 8-12 struggle with their weight as well as their overweight child. This is not a clinical program for the obese.
All families who attend all four classes will receive a FREE 3 month YMCA family membership.
the first three classes are from 6:30-7:30 pm. class four is an extended class and runs from 6:30-8 pm.

Registration Fees:
$ 25 per adult for the entire 4-week program.
$25 per child for the entire 4-week program.
Fee includes 4 educational sessions for parents, 4 interactive activity-based sessions for kids and monthly newsletters mailed to your home for six months after course completion. Additionally, if you attend all four classes, you receive a free three month family membership to the YMCA.
Please note: the final class is extended for an extra half hour- until 8 pm.
Intended Audience:
Parents or adult caregivers of children ages 8 - 12 who are concerned about their child's weight, eating habits and physical activity. Children with weight problems attend a separate class designed to help them have fun with activity and fitness.
In order for children to attend their four week session, an adult MUST attend the adult sessions. Adults may attend their sessions without their child registering for the four week youth program.
Inclement Weather:
We follow the Columbus Public Schools policy for weather closure. If a program is cancelled due to bad weather, it will be rescheduled for another evening.
Parking:
Parking is free for this program.
Child Care:
We are sorry but we are unable to provide childcare for this program.
Confirmation/Cancellations:
A confirmation letter with directions to the class will be sent to all participants registered two weeks before the program. After that time, no confirmation will be sent.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be received two weeks prior to the class. At that time, refunds will be made minus 30% for administrative costs. No refunds will be given after that time.

Additional Information:
The four week sessions for children are a new addition to this program in response to parent request.
Please note: kids cannot attend their four week session unless an adult attends the parent sessions.
You do not have to be a YMCA member to attend these classes. If you attend all four classes, your family will receive a free 3 month YMCA family memebership.
Class is held from 6:30 - 7:30 pm except for the October 24 session which is from 6:30-8 pm.
