Clinical, Teaching & Research Interests*:

Mark Splaingard, MD, is the Director of the Sleep Disorders Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He is board certified in pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and sleep medicine. Dr. Splaingard’s research in 2008 focused on sleep problems in children with bipolar disorder and migraine headaches, improvement in breathing during sleep in infants with Pierre Robin and teenagers after bariatric surgery and the pathophysiology of aerodigestive reflexes in sleeping infants. In 2008, Dr. Splaingard gave lectures to pediatric pulmonologists, pediatricians, sleep medicine fellows, otolaryngology and pediatric residents, medical students and graduate students at The Ohio State University.
