The centerpiece of Nationwide Children's downtown campus expansion is the construction of a new, 12-story, 700,000-square-foot main hospital building.
Scheduled for opening in 2012, the new hospital will be surrounded by six additional acres of green space featuring parks and healing garden spaces for patients and families. Clinical features include an emergency/trauma center expanded to double the size of the current facility; a 40 percent increase in the size of patient rooms; and a floor dedicated to pediatric intensive care, cardiac intensive care and transplant.
