Ethan A. Mezoff, MD, is an attending physician in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and a member of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Intestinal Support Service. He attended the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine for his medical education, after which he served as a research associate in the lab of Mitchell Cohen, MD, at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He completed a pediatric residency in Washington, DC at Children’s National Medical Center and a fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center with a focus on nutrition and intestinal rehabilitation. His fellowship research, performed in the lab of Dr. Michael Helmrath with co-mentor Ardythe Morrow, PhD, evaluated the role of a human milk oligosaccharide, 2’-Fucosyllactose, on the adaptive response to intestinal resection. He also earned a Certificate in Clinical and Translational Research from the University of Cincinnati during his fellowship. He has presented the results of his research projects at national and international meetings. He is a member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition and the American Gastroenterological Association. He is also the proud recipient of the 2015 Nutrishare HomePN Resarch Award. Prior to joining Nationwide Children’s Hospital, he was an Instructor in the University of Cincinnati Department of Pediatrics and member of the Intestinal Care Center in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
