Ehab I. Ahmed, MD is a member of the Section of Neonatology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Ahmed’s research interests are in determining interventions to prevent nosocomial infections in the extremely premature infant. In so doing, Dr. Ahmed is interested in determining risk factor and the epidemiology of nosocomial infections. In addition, since Methicillin Resistant Staph Aureus has become so prevalent in nurseries, Dr. Ahmed will begin studies to determine the role of maternal and health care transmissions as well as interdictions to prevent these transmissions. Dr. Ahmed’s clinical interests are in the prevention of complications of prematurity and his teaching interests encompass working with nursing staff and neonatal nurse practitioners on all aspects of taking care of premature infants in our Community Special Care Nursery.
