Dr. Gary Smith is a Professor of Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine and Epidemiology at The Ohio State University. He is founder and director of the Center for Injury Research and Policy of The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Smith is board certified in the specialties of pediatrics and general preventive medicine and public health, and in the subspecialty of pediatric emergency medicine. In addition to his clinical training, he holds MPH and DrPH degrees from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. Cindy Coe, NEISS Project Manager
Cindy joined the Center for Injury Research and Policy (CIRP) in 2000 as the project manager of CIRP's participation in the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System. Cindy has been featured in the CPSC national newsletter as one of the top hospital NEISS data reporters in the United States.
Kaitlin Chassee, BSH, NEISS Data Coordinator
Kaitlin joined the Center for Injury Research and Policy (CIRP) in 2011 as the Data Coordinator of CIRP’s participation in the National Electronic Surveillance System (NEISS) operated by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission. She collects data daily and reports it to a national database. Kaitlin earned her Bachelor of Science in Health from Ohio University in 2011.
