The Center for Injury Research and Policy (CIRP) of The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital releases this request for applications for its Exploratory Research Project Grant Program.
The Exploratory Research Project Grant Program will fund short-term, preliminary and proof-of-concept research in child injury research and prevention. Grant awards will range from $15,000 to $25,000 per project for up to 12 months. No indirect costs are allowed. The goal is to encourage researchers in US Office of Management and Budget (OMB)-defined Region V(Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin)to develop pilot projects that break new ground or extend previous discoveries in new directions. Investigators of exploratory research projects are expected to collect preliminary data that will 1) lead to development of a full research proposal that will be submitted for funding via other funding mechanisms, and 2) produce at least one publication following completion of the project.
