Carlo Di Lorenzo, MD, is Chief of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Nationwide Children's Hospital and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Di Lorenzo has been among the first clinical investigators to assess the diagnostic value of antroduodenal and colonic manometry and to use the electronic barostat to assess visceral sensitivity in children. He co-authored the only book on pediatric gastrointestinal motility and has published more than 140 peer-reviewed original articles and 80 chapters, invited reviews and editorials.
Named among the “Best Doctors in America," Dr. Di Lorenzo serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and the Journal of Neurogastroenterology and Motility. He has functioned as a grant reviewer for the National Institutes of Health and abstract reviewer for the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA). Dr. Di Lorenzo has also held prominent roles in numerous national and international organizations and work groups, including:

• Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) subcommittee to develop evaluation and treatment guidelines for functional abdominal pain
• Chair of the Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders and Neurogastroenterology working group of the second World Congress of Pediatric Gastroenterology
• Chair of the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS) committee for the development of minimal standards for motility testing in children
• Chair of the Adolescent Committee of the Rome III criteria
• Chair of the Growth, Development and Child Health Section of the American Gastroenterology Association

• Member of the American Board of Pediatrics’ Pediatric Gastroenterology Sub-board
