The ACGME cardiology fellowship program at Nationwide Children's Hospital's Heart Center, offers a well-rounded experience in all facets of Pediatric/Congenital cardiology. The fellows will be involved with the latest innovative care of patients with congenital cardiology working directly with leading physicians. Faculty within The Heart Center includes cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiac intensivists, and cardiac anesthesiologists. Representative in all the subspecialty of cardiology is represented in the group of cardiologists. In addition to the physicians, the fellows will also have the benefit of having direct interaction with a large group of experienced supporting staff who include nurses, perfusionists, and technicians.

For our traditional cardiology fellows, the program is a three-year experience with approximately 24 months devoted to clinical rotations and 12 months to research/electives. The fellows are encouraged and expected to participate in all aspects of patient care within The Heart Center and scholarly activities.

Nationwide Children's Hospital also offers a unique combined Internal Medicine/Pediatric cardiology fellowship for individuals who are dedicated to pursue a career in the field of Adult Congenital Heart Disease. The program expands to 5 years with joint appointment to the cardiology fellowship at The Ohio State University department of internal medicine and the division of cardiology. The clinical rotation months will be comparable to our traditional fellows. The 12 research/elective months will be divided between OSU and Nationwide Children's Hospital. These fellows will have an exposure to our faculty members who are ACHD trained and manage this unique population as well as exposure to one of the largest ACHD programs in the country. At completion, these individuals will be board-eligible for both disciplines.
