Cost per ticket is $75 and includes a progressive menu paired with accompanying drinks, catered by Cameron Mitchell Restaurants & Catering. Handicap Accessibility at the BIA Parade of Homes
The BIA Parade of Homes site provides handicap accessibility for parking, restrooms, and concessions. The individual Parade houses are private property and built for sale in the general real estate market.
Pictures of the homes are available by request at the ticket booth and will be available on the BIA Parade of Homes website.
How to Volunteer
The 2013 BIA Parade of Homes will be held June 15 – June 30 at Jerome Village. The Parade will feature 13 homes representing 11 builders. This year’s Foundation Home builder is Truberry Custom Homes. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this home will be donated to Nationwide Children’s.
Some of the Parade builders have asked TWIG to host their homes. This will entail greeting visitors, directing them through the house and giving them general details about the site. The shifts are 3 hours each and run from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The builders will make a donation to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation equal to $15 per hour for each volunteer, and each individual TWIG will receive paper credit for their time.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and should dress “business casual” (no jeans or shorts), but please wear comfortable shoes, as you will be standing for your entire shift. Upon arrival at the house, each volunteer should locate the TWIG Binder (located in a kitchen drawer) and sign in for their schedule. IMPORTANT – Your TWIG will not receive paper credit for hours worked if the sign in/out sheet is not completed correctly (TWIG # must be referenced). Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to familiarize yourself with the details of the house, which will be provided to you.
As a volunteer, you will receive parking passes and directions to the Parade mailed to you in time for the event, and a Parade badge at the ticket booth when you arrive for your shift(s). If, at a later date, you need to make changes to the shift(s) you have selected, or cannot honor your commitment, please do your best to find a replacement, and contact Erin or Shelley, as noted below.
IMPORTANT – If you are not able to find a replacement to work your shift, please contact Shelly Hobson (614) 551-3761 or Erin O’Donnell (614) 570-6781 immediately.
Our relationship with the Parade builders is critical to the success of this project. For that reason, we will impose a $45 fee (equal to 3 hours at $15/hour) on any volunteer who fails to show up for a scheduled shift without informing one of the above committee persons at least three hours before the shift begins. The TWIG that the volunteer was working for will pay the fee in the form of a donation to Nationwide Children’s. While cancellations are inevitable, we must all do our best to ensure that these houses are not left unattended.
Below is the link to sign up and to view the calendar for available shifts. This calendar is updated daily. We do ask that you provide us with your top 3 choices of shift days and times so we can best manage the calendar. If we have any questions about your registration, we will contact you via email or phone. Otherwise, you’ll receive your confirmation volunteer packet in the mail prior to the beginning of the Parade of Homes on June 15th.
To sign up to volunteer, complete and submit the form.
Thanks for helping make this a great event for Nationwide Children’s!
