Antoinette P. Eaton, MD

Antoinette P. Eaton, MD, is Corporate Director for Governmental Affairs and a member of the Section of Ambulatory Pediatrics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and a Professor of Pediatrics, Emeritus, at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Her clinical interests are in the management of children with special health care needs and maternal and child health issues. She has had a long-standing commitment to public health, having served as the Interim Dean of the School of Public Health at The Ohio State University. She is active in the Academy of Pediatrics as a past president and recently completed an eight-year tenure as Chairperson of the Department of Health and Human Services’ Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Infant Mortality in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the National Institute on Child Health and Development, National Children’s Study Advisory Committee. She has been actively involved on a number of community boards.

• To honor Dr. Eaton’s many years of child advocacy work, an award was created by the American Academy of Pediatrics. The award, entitled the Antoinette Parisi Eaton Child Advocacy Award, was given to its first recipient, Ohio’s First Lady Hope Taft, at the fall meeting of the Ohio Chapter AAP in October 2005, and to Abigail Wexner in November 2006. Representative John E. Peterson was presented the award in 2007.
