Behavioral Health Services at Nationwide Children’s Hospital offer a comprehensive approach to support the behavioral, psychiatric and psychological needs of children, adolescents and their families. Our staff of licensed professionals is specially trained in the assessment and treatment of behavioral health conditions in children and adolescents.

Our comprehensive approach to care is provided by a multidisciplinary team – which may include a psychiatrist, developmental-behavioral pediatrician, nurse practitioner, psychologist, clinical social worker, and clinical counselor – to determine the best treatment options for each child and adolescent.

Functional Abdominal Pain is a common problem in which chronic or frequent abdominal pain interferes with a child's regular activities and daily life. It is estimated to affect as many as 10 percent of children and adolescents. Nationwide Children's Hospital is looking for ways to help kids cope with this pain.

 

A recent study, conducted by researchers at the Center for Innovation in Pediatric Practices in The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital, has found that computerized screening with immediate results helps physicians identify dangerous behaviors among adolescents.

Nationwide Children’s ADHD Academy provides topic focused educational sessions for parents of children with ADD/ADHD. This program educates parents regarding the nature of ADHD, how it affects children, families, and effective treatment options.
 
This educational series is offered monthly to better inform families about Autism, treatments and issues related to raising and educating children on the Autism Spectrum.
