The Behavioral Health Services comprehensive approach to care is provided by a multidisciplinary team – which may include a psychiatrist, developmental-behavioral pediatrician, nurse practitioner, psychologist, clinical social worker, and clinical counselor – to determine the best treatment options for each child and adolescent.
The Myelomeningocele/Spina Bifida Clinic at Nationwide Children's Hospital is a multi-disciplinary clinic providing comprehensive long-term treatment services to individuals with myelomeningocele and other spinal abnormalities.
Services may include assessments by members of a multidisciplinary team consisting of neurodevelopmental pediatrics, nursing, orthopedics, physiatry, urology, neuropsychology, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, orthotists and other related ancillary services. Referrals to other specialists are made as needed. Testing often is done the day of the clinic visit. Families also can be linked with community resources when appropriate.
