The newly integrated Cerebral Palsy Program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is a multi-disciplinary clinic devoted to children and adolescents with cerebral palsy. The comprehensive approach to care is provided by a multidisciplinary team to determine the best treatment options for each child and adolescent.
Led by Amy Newmeyer, MD, medical director, the Cerebral Palsy Program emphasizes excellence in clinical care while also focusing on translational research that will evaluate in a rigorous scientific way the many therapies currently in use, plus those that are just over the horizon.
Families can see a variety of specialists in one clinic visit. Testing, such as X-rays or lab work, is available as needed. Families will also be linked with medical, educational, social and financial resources in the community as needed.
The vision of the Cerebral Palsy Program is that every child with cerebral palsy will reach his/her full potential physically, cognitively and socially.
