Office of Technology Commercialization
The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital is an innovative, emergent organization that encourages faculty to develop promising new technologies that could one day provide utility to the practice of pediatrics, or more broadly to the general healthcare community. The Office of Technology Commercialization at The Research Institute is responsible for the transfer of technology to external organizations.
This office works closely with our Patents, Copyrights and Conflicts of Interest Committee to protect and commercialize intellectual property throughout Nationwide Children's Hospital.
The Office supports our organization's focus on clinical care, research and education by facilitating the transfer of new technologies to outside partners for the benefit of our community and the general public. The Research Institute is currently seeking partners to license the following technologies:
- Apoptosis-Inducing Genes for Cancer Treatment - Survivin for Enhancement of Cancer Treatments - Antibody Gene Transfer and Recombinant Adeno-associated Virus Vectors - Therapeutic Target for Mucosal Infections Caused by NTHI - Muscle Function Enhancement via Myostatin Inhibition - Non-Slip Wrist Guard Protection for Ice-Related Sports Injury Prevention
The Research Institute is a signatory of the Uniform Biological Material Transfer Agreement (UBMTA) developed by NIH and managed by the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM). For institutions that have signed the UBMTA Master Agreement, materials can be transferred under the terms of the UBMTA upon execution of an Implementing Letter for the particular transfer.
See the AUTM website for more information on the UBMTA.
